Control your Hi-fi and AV equipment from anywhere in the home using this IR extender system.
De-cluttering your home and putting all those remote controlled devices (HiFi's DVD, Video, Sat boxes) into cupboards or cabinets has always been a problem due to the need to have a visual line of sight for the handheld remotes.
Now your problem is solved with this simple and reliable solution.
A basic kit will require an infrared connecting block with power supply, receivers for each of the rooms that you wish to control devices from, and emitters in front of each device that you wish to control.

Infrared Receiver Cable The Infrared Barrel Receiver is used as part of a network, it receives IR commands from a hand held remote control device and extends the command from room to room. These receivers are normally installed near the device being used such as a TV. As part of an IR distribution network, the receiver is mounted in the room where control of a centrally located system is required. The receiver is cabled using CAT5e cable and is powered from the central connecting block. The infrared light signals are converted to electrical signals and passed through the network to the emitters and converted back to light. A built in “talkback†green LED is incorporated in the lens giving a visual indication of IR activity. Whatever IR code / signal are inputted it is transmitted through the network. Therefore a remote code from a video controller will control its own device, also a remote from the HiFi will control only that system. Care has to be taken if you have two devices using the same control codes i.e. two satellite set top boxes from the same manufacturer / make etc. Generally the receiver is plasma friendly, but locations with LCD and plasma screen should be taken into account. |
